Adults
An adult who accepts the payment accepts it as full and final, unless they elect to sue first. If they accept and sue later, the payment is reclaimed and a fee of R5,000 applies.
Claims
You show that treatment caused the injury, not that someone was at fault. An independent clinical assessor rates the impairment. nownow does not.
This is a summary only. The policy wording governs. Patient Cover is not a medical scheme, and it is not a substitute for medical scheme membership.
Five steps
Choose a step. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys once a step is focused.
Step 1 of 5
Send the claim to claims@nownow.insure. An adult has 12 months from the event. For a newborn, a parent or carer has 36 months from the birth. The wording also allows a claims helpdesk phone, but no number is stated in the current documents, so none is printed here. The deck mentions email or web. There is no claim form on this website.

A child is never asked to waive anything. The child keeps the right to claim more. Payments above R250,000 go to the Benefit Trust. The first R250,000 on a newborn claim is unconditional.
Newborn ExtensionIf you disagree
You have 30 days to object to a decision. It then goes to an independent Expert Evaluator, with a target of 30 days. You may go to the Ombud at any time. The wording names the Short-Term Insurance Ombudsman, which now sits in the National Financial Ombud Scheme. Contact details are being confirmed.
